Visma encourages its people into esports, whatever their experience level

Kanaliiga is happy to introduce more sponsors for 2025! Visma, which has signed a league-wide Wide partnership, previously helped make the higher-education esports league Educational Masters possible. Supporting Kanaliiga was a natural next step, spreading the word about esports both externally and inside the company.

Visma’s employees have played in Kanaliiga for years; the company’s teams go back to at least 2019. Visma people play many different games, and a lot of them have been in Kanaliiga’s line-up for years. This season they are entering at least the Counter-Strike, Dota 2 and Rocket League tournaments, and they have trained hard since last season.

What kind of company is Visma? It is one of Europe’s leading software companies, automating and streamlining business-critical work from corporate financial management to public-sector solutions. Consumer-facing Visma products include the online payment service Visma Pay, the e-signature service Visma Sign, Wilma, familiar from Finnish schools, and the financial management system Netvisor, which was also this year’s Diili sponsor. In Finland alone, Visma consists of 17 companies with around 1,500 employees. It has offices across Finland, the largest in the Rautatalo building on Keskuskatu in central Helsinki, opposite Stockmann.

Visma’s people are keen gamers outside Kanaliiga too. Some teams organise gaming after-work events, there is a Discord server for community games and streams, and one of the group’s companies, Visma Solutions, has twice hosted a weekend-long LAN event that keeps growing. Maybe one year the LAN will have a Kanaliiga commentary desk as well. We will see!

The Visma teams have goals for the season. The CS team “Visma in Pyjamas” has had roster changes, and expectations are high for a team playing in the Challengers tier. Visma’s two Dota teams are out to boldly challenge every opponent and play above their level, the second team in particular. In Rocket League, the focus is on better teamwork and regular practice.
