Supermetrics started the Kanaliiga CS2 Season 3 Enabled by Supermetrics season with two teams. However, as the LAN finals approach, the colors of Supermetrics cannot be seen on the gaming chairs themselves. CS-Tools LD, in other words, Supermetrics’ “first team” fell in the playoffs right at the beginning to the Lower Bracket and finally qualified from the tournament a good while before the finals.

“However, the goal was to grab the gold, i.e. a win at the series level. We always aim for the maximum, because otherwise the performance suffers.” - Oliver “CaptainMist” Colliander

The history of CS-Tools LD was already paged in a previous article, but in short the team started when Laura “lapa” pylätä, known from Kanaliiga, started with Supermetrics to inquire about potential CS players to form a team. Over time, the team, if any, has seen the Kanaliiga servers and got to enjoy the team spirit of the work group outside of office hours as well.

Like Supermetrics’ from another team as well, CS-Tools LD’s roster includes players from Supermetrics’ different work teams - a wide coverage without forgetting the titles. The composition of the team in the season was as follows:

Simon “DasBibben” Waygood - Customer Success Team Lead EMEA Aleksander “WashingtonFI” Cardwell - Director of Product Marketing Teemu “Poupe” Heiskanen - Senior API Integration Engineer Valtteri “Kei55i” Lilja - Lead Software Engineer Rasmus “Kronije” Kuhlberg - Sr. Customer Success Manager Oliver “CaptainMist” Colliander - Sales Manager EMEA

When asked about interesting facts about the team members, Oliver Colliander lists the following: Rasmus plays best after eating a roll kebab before games. Simon’s child often wishes good night right before the matches start, so that the whole team can hear the wishes at the same time, and Teemu’s nickname “Pope” comes from magical moments both at work and on the server.

Did the season of CS-Tools Last Dance end up being the “last dance” and did the bitter chalk of defeat dry up even the last calls from the team’s vocal cords? Captain Oliver Colliander’s answer is very clear: No. The team will return to CS-Tools again next season.

“Now the dust has been cleared. This was just a good warm-up for the next season, when the group is together again. Only then will we see the real last dance.”

Kanaliiga CS2 Season 3 Enabled by Supermetrics LAN finals will be held on 17.5. from 13:00 in Cave Entertainment’s party space, at Kivimiehentie 2, Espoo. You must register for the event in advance. More information: kanaliiga.fi/cs-finals
