What about the champions, the Digia Vengers?

Kanaliiga CS2 season is in the playoff stage. December finals are approaching, so now is the perfect time to remember last spring’s finals! Who else would we ask for news from, than the reigning champion, Digia Vengers, who took the finals in style 2-0.

Digia Vengers Vice-Captain Juah, were you superior in the final, or did the opponent just not have enough this time?

“I wouldn’t say that we were superior. Even in the stream, you could hear (from the audience) that the final was already won in a map bet. The final happened to have favorable maps for us, and on top of that, it also happened to be a good game day. The team’s hydration choices could also have affected the match to some extent.”

All the final pairs of the live finals ended 2-0 and the victory from each series level was taken by the team that had to play its way to the end through the Lower Bracket. However, will the additional games bring the necessary boost for the finals?

“It’s difficult to say this when you don’t know how much the teams play together outside of the “official” games, if not, then there will be more games and they’ve played together closer to the final, which definitely gives an advantage.”

Are you going to claim the championship in the current CS2 season?

“Of course, we started the new season to do our best and let’s see how long it will take this time. The other games have taken a lot of time from the team, so it remains to be seen whether the tactics, mechanics and terms will get mixed up between the games.”

In the live final, there were red-covered Digia notebooks on the tables, the covers of which remained tightly closed before the actual final match. Did the tactics remain generic or did it go a bit to the side of tryharding and massaging?

“It’s always good to have a few notes with you, so that you don’t forget everything in the excitement of the final ;) ”

Some of the teams receive support from their workplace for Kanaliiga tournaments. How does the Kanaliiga show up in the daily work life of the Digital people, of course now in other ways than in the form of a handsome trophy?

“The season fees come from the company and financial support was received for the trip to the finals. The team’s success last season has also been hyped on social media. The trophy is in a place of honor at the Tampere office as a reminder of the success.”

Now you can send greetings!

“See you on the server and remember to have fun (too).”

The Kanaliiga CS2 season culminates in the live final played at Arkade Bar in Helsinki. The final will be played on 14.12.2024 and admission to the event is free!

Wait a minute… The iron is hot though, so Digia Vengers Vice Captain Juah: Now would be a good time to change the moniker to Hawk Juah?

“Well now that you said… Threat or Opportunity! It’s funny that sometime 20 years ago I used the nickname Hawk in some circles…”
