Does winning get boring, CGI Physical Presence?

CGI’s champion team captain Lauri “cnfnd” Venäläinen is already looking forward to the championship party.

“So far, it’s even more scary to lose than boring to win,” says CGI Fyysinen Preesens captain Lauri “cnfnd” Venäläinen. The Russian knows what he’s talking about - the PUBG championship is already his eighth personally, and the fifth for CGI’s top team. The previous three championships have been earned in Elisa’s ranks. Starting from PUBG Squad Season 10, the CGI crown has only been taken by Elisa Aboriginals in season 11, and by DNA Denarit in season 15. In those seasons, CGI finished second and was fighting for the win for a long time. In season 11, victory slipped through our fingers in the last map of the entire season.

In the just ended season 16, the championship was in the hands of more teams than before. Before the last day of play, the championship was practically in the hands of four different teams, although a small difference in points between the top and the fourth had already emerged. During the tournament season, however, there were some amazing game days at the highest Masters series level, when, for example, Telia took 76 points on the 5th game day of the season.

“After the victory on the second map on the last day of play, the championship began to feel reasonably certain. Even though we played seriously and won from the first day of play, there were several turbulent days of play in the season. The prize pot was seriously fought for until the very last day of play. The whole season was very tight and it would have only taken one or two more good maps for the other top teams to have a different result.”

After season 14, CGI’s near-legendary roster changed when the awesome left the team. CGI Fyysinen Preesens played the previous seasons with an almost unchanged roster, using other players only in special cases as replacements for absent ones.

“Yes, the team dynamic changes when 25% of the team’s Core is renewed. It took his time to learn around the playing style of others. But even though maahtava is a tough individual and team player, the team adapts when he has to. PUBG is ultimately a team game and a team that plays well will outrun individual performance. I hope that maahtava would return to the playing field in the ranks of opponents, for example!”

Perhaps even a record number of hard hitters played at the 16 Masters series level in the season. Although previous seasons have also seen great players and teams, it seemed that the keys to the solution were in the hands of more and more different teams until the end of the season. However, was CGI’s captain nervous to challenge or challenge any of the opposing players?

“You shouldn’t be afraid of names on the field! But you have to raise your hat to your fellow competitors. Last season’s champion Hebser deserves special honors - insane statistics! (Hebser’s victory by taking the Masters series level point statistics for the season was 84 frags, Liido who came in second had 66) As a team, it was great to see successes from Telia and PV as well.”

In season 16, the CGI Physical Presence consisted of the following players:

Lauri “cnfnd” Venäläinen (IGL) Ville “wild” Piirainen Tommi “tomb4” Luhtala Joshua “rises” Eklund Lassi “Mukke_” Hautala

CGI Fyysinen Preesens has thus taken five wins and two second places in the last seven seasons. Season after season, one has to ask a team that hangs at the top, how can the performance be consistently so smooth?

“A positive atmosphere, where we listen to everyone’s suggestions and ideas and build the best solutions based on them. We also have the courage to do things differently.”

Before moving on to the summer holidays, let’s ask the CGI captain to send greetings:

“Let’s borrow a clip from last season’s championship interview that fits this: “Winning is not the most important thing, as long as CGI doesn’t win” - Hebser/DNA Denarit.”
