Sweat and relaxed enjoyment - Visma conquers the CS field thanks to two teams

Kanaliiga’s main partner Visma went into the whirlwinds of CS2 Season 3 Enabled by Supermetrics with a two-team tactic. A fairly sharp division can be seen in the level differences between the teams - Visma in Pajamas, which borrows its name from the professional team NiP, plays at the second highest level, i.e. at the Challengers league level, while Visma CMD is in the 10th division. Both teams have progressed in the Playoffs to a situation where there are still opportunities to play themselves from the Lower Bracket, for example, to the brightest position in the league level.
Let’s get to know the composition of the teams a little!
Visma’s “second team”, or Visma CMD, has taken a break from games for a few years, but for the year of cooperation, a team was assembled again with a wide roster. Although the team has more than 60 years of game experience, only two of the team’s players have crossed the 1,000-hour mark. The 10th division has seemed like the right place for the team and the games there have been tight and pleasant.
The team strives to enjoy all the games to the fullest and without the playing becoming too much of a real twist - unlike, according to Visma CMD captain Lauri Tahvanainen, the senior team, whose playing is more of a sweaty twisting, which is far from enjoyment.
The configuration of Visma CMD is as follows:
Lauri “PATiMATic” Tahvanainen, Senior Programmer The team captain has four years of experience in Kanaliiga games. In the previous two seasons, Lauri has played in Visma’s “sweat team” Challenger and 2 Divar. However, for this season, according to his words, Lauri found a club of his own level and playing is nice again. However, in the role of captain, he has had to study opponents’ demos before games.
Joni “Ziiffi” Laukkonen, Security Engineer Vice-captain of the team and also a Kanaliiga veteran. A reliable player who, if necessary, clutches any situation.
Pekka “Peku” Paalosmaa, Senior Software Developer Peku is the oldest player on the team and brings with him a deep chest voice of experience. At best, Peku is said to have knocked out the opposing team before a single shot has been thrown, with his accompanying words “Did we have a plan?”
Alexander “Templar” Smolko, Junior Software Developer Alexander is participating in the Kanaliiga for the fifth year. His specialty is that he has the fastest revolver hand in the West and the entire Kanaliiga.
Henri “Nurkkanaätä” Taulavuori, Sales Specialist Henri is in his first season in the Kanaliiga and in the first match they playfully threatened that the contract will be terminated if the ADR reading is below 100. Henri completed the challenge nicely and clocked a handsome 111.9 in his first match.
Miko “Kostaja” Kiiski, Market Readiness Manager Miko’s role is the same both on the market and on the server: Fast entries.
Ruupert “Jeezi” Koponen, Software Developer Trainee The team’s young hitman or hosuja, whose hands hold the AWP sniper rifle like a model.
Eetu “EddieQbeHead” Customer, Software Engineer The team’s backup player whose goal for the season is not to play a single CS match. At the moment, the goal has been reached. However, the team appreciates his contribution to be in the announced team composition.
How does Visma in Pajamas compare to the second team?
Visma in Pajamas has been in Kanaliiga since CS:GO season 10. The team, which made its way up from Vitosdivar all the way to the Challengers, has accumulated significantly more playing hours over the years than the second team, and the attitude towards the sport is admittedly more fanatical than CMD’s, which focuses more on the pleasure side. The team’s players work at Visma’s different companies, so the team’s common factor is mainly interest in the game.
As an interesting fact about the team’s players, Snädib, heatseek, niksi and blobb are all already familiar with each other from their university days, and over the years, the number of hours spent together outside the chicken league has accumulated in the hundreds, if not even thousands. The shared game hours are reflected in the team’s mutual trust - both good and bad.
Visma’s first team’s experience and playing hours are a bit heavier:
Elmer “Snädib” Häyrynen, Security Architect Elmer has been the team’s captain since the first seasons. According to his own words, he is a “reliable lighting technician” who can blind his opponents as well as his own in the blink of an eye. More than 3,000 game hours have been accumulated, and typically for architects, drawing game performances is also a breeze. In the update of his teammates’ game calendar, he hears that he also gets to use other creative means - threats, blackmail and intimidation.
Ossi “heatseek” Koivula, Software Developer A young hitter of Visma’s first team and a supporter of previous seasons. In Faceit, in addition to 10 and Kanaliiga, experience from ESEA and Educational Masters. The mouse has perhaps the world’s lowest sense and on the table is a mouse pad the size of an airport.
Niclas “niksi” Lamponen, Site Reliability Engineer New acquisition for the current season. Faceit 10 and more than 4000 game hours offer experience and insight. He usually chooses a so-called game night drink. CS tea, which brews for at least an hour while playing games. However, consumption of the drink has been researched to increase performance for game night.
Andrey “blobb” Aleksandrov, Senior Site Reliability Engineer Again Faceit 10 and 4000+ hours. Competes with heatseek for the team’s hardest Kanarating. The mental side can be developed, at the best it makes a strong impression. Also called by the descriptive name “monster” within the team.
Joni “JombaJJ” Jauhiainen, QA Engineer The Faceit 10 and 4000+ hours club continues. The second new acquisition of the season has also earned himself the team’s second best Kanarating. I look forward to the games every time with pink enthusiasm.
Teemu “teugeN” Pohjonen, Key Account Manager Experience in international LAN tournaments since 2013 with Call of Duty 4. The team’s official, strongest and only AWP player. More than 2,000 game hours on the CS side.
Atte “pate” Peltonen, Application Specialist A well-known performer from previous seasons, with about 1000 CS hours and extensive experience in other FPS games as well.
Markus “Markkane” Peltomäki, ICT Specialist Markus is also a credit factor from previous seasons. More than 2,000 CS lessons and doing solid and reliable from season to season. He has a total of 11 seasons under his belt in more different companies than Kanaliiga, which makes him Visma’s most experienced player.
Visma CMD’s Playoffs are interrupted on Sunday 13.4. Visma in Pajamas continues its season in next week’s Playoff round.
