Valtori returns to the championship position

Valtor’s captain Jori in an interview right after the final

CS2 test season, CS2 Season 2 and lastly CS2 Season 4. Valtor’s Counter Strike team has taken a look at their final opponent several times since CS:GO switched to Counter Strike 2. The latest iteration of the video game has more championship belts than all other championship teams combined.

“Very good feeling, the season was more difficult than the last couple of seasons and despite that we managed to win the championship. After all, these victories have been hunted for quite a few seasons.” - Jori

In season 4, the trophy came off with a 2-0 map victory, but it was still not a case of a shout-out. In the opposite final was JIS Automation, the strongest performer of the season up to that point, for whom the LAN final was the second time in a row and already the third in the next few years. JIS Automation’s path was victorious through the entire Upper Bracket and the team started in the playoffs from the top spot in the series. In general, in the entire season, the JIS team had lost only one map before the finals.

In the finals, however, Valtori managed to play his best game and win close numbers on both maps, first over Nuke 13-11 and then over Ancient with the first overtimes 16-12. The whole match ended handsomely with HAPE’s ace in the last round of the final. At no point did the difference in laps become large for either team, which indicated an even situation between the teams - and the audience enjoyed themselves.

Valtor’s route to the finals first went through second place in the regular season to the playoffs, where the final opponent JIS Automation dropped the team to the lower bracket. In the lower bracket, however, Valtori’s team managed to beat the rest of their opponents, e.g. reigning champion ALM Partners, clearing their way to the LAN finals.

There were changes in Valtori’s team both during the season and in the finals. Long-time IGL Shairou was left out of the lineup before the start of the season. Accordingly, Henab, who acted as vice-captain, could not participate in the LAN final. Despite the changes, the team found a common note for both the season and the final and left the final with a trophy in hand to celebrate the victory.

“The championship party was held in a local hill, because everyone was in traffic by car. So the party was more moderate at the time, than after the championship in season two.” Team captain Jori sums up.

Valtori’s final player roster for the season was as follows:

Players: Acer Berbice henab OXYGEN MAd

As substitutes: ALPHA BEAST Driver

Counter Strike combines good team play, but also strong individual performance. When asked about Valtori’s captain Jor, he states that this season’s team was a suitable combination of both.

When asked about CS2 Season 5, there is no exhaustive answer yet, but the team will probably continue in the Kanaliiga with some composition.

“According to legend, everyone whose ADR was less than 100 in the finals will be kicked from the team, but we’ll see.” Jori adds.

At the end of the interview, Valtori’s captain Jori sends his greetings:

“Greetings to my wife, my own dog, Mauno the cat, fans of Valtor and myself, Ersiboguu and of course the smart ones. Don’t forget to watch the Nuke clip from CS:GO season 5.”

Kanaliiga CS2 Season 5 registration opens in early 2026.
