Few companies have been as integral a part of Kanaliiga’s PUBG tournaments as TNNet. The Jyväskylä-based comprehensive IT house’s gaming career in Kanaliiga has already started in 2020. Another well-known character from Kanaliiga, Lauri “cnfnd” Venäläinen, had a hand in TNNet’s PUBG enthusiasm through a twist: Lauri’s brother happened to work at TNNet at the time and talked about PUBG and Kanaliiga in the sauna space on Väinönkatu in Jyväskylä. Even though the employees were keen on gaming even before the Kanaliiga, the PUBG tournaments eventually became the first opportunity where co-workers could play together against other Teams.

Shortly after the first tournaments, TNNet already started cooperating with Kanaliiga - first through the technical service of PUBG live broadcasts. More recently, TNNet’s servers are also used on the CS2 side. TNNet has also been a partner of Kanaliiga in making Kanalanej in Jyväskylä in Autumn 2022.

The fire for making e-sports is strong, which is explained by the history of TNNet, the original business activity started from an internet cafe, and from the famous CS servers of TNNet / Avatar in the early 2000s. It’s no wonder that esports can be seen and heard in the company’s everyday life, because esports seems to be coded into its soul.

So what does it mean that TNNet is a fully integrated IT house? TNNet’s Niko “Asbe” Niinijärvi sums up as follows:

“TNNet Oy is one of the only completely comprehensive IT infrastructure houses in Finland, which offers all IT services to companies as well as IT service houses. Why I say one of the only is that we are also an operator and we maintain our own equipment hall. We have operations all over Finland and we also have a large number of partners all over Finland. If you cooperate with a local IT house, you may be using TNNet’s services in the background without knowing it.

What separates TNNet from all competitors is its iron and super fast customer service and really high-quality services that work in any situation without interruptions. Cooperation with customers is vital to us, and our longest-standing customers have already reached the age of majority.”

TNNetti could be called a kind of “proxy producer” of IT infrastructure services, whose comprehensive solutions are implemented completely domestically.

Video gaming is still an integral part of the daily life of TNNet people. More than half of the employees actively and daily play different games, from FPS games to MOBA games to driving simulators. The working group includes e.g. one of Finland’s hardest World of Warcraft grinders, who is repeatedly found in the top places of Finnish guilds. New recruits also have a very positive attitude towards playing, and an e-sports background at least doesn’t hurt.

In the future, TNNet is expected to grow, and with that, through recruitment, hopefully new young players will also join the Kanaliiga team. The level has already been slowly raised for this season, and the future also looks even more positive in terms of e-sports.

“Recruitment is the best way for us to raise the level. The current players are already getting old enough that it is no longer worthwhile to dream too much about raising the level through training.” - Niko “Asbe” Niinijärvi
