The third time it's true - JIS-Automation CS2 champion

JIS-Automation’s players had a smile on their faces after lifting the trophy

Kanaliiga CS2 tournaments have been overwhelmingly dominated by one team for the past three seasons. During the previous three seasons, JIS-Automation has played itself into the LAN finals with an almost flawless performance. However, the LAN finals have been kryptonite for the team - In season three, ALM Partners took the victory in a three-map thriller, and in season four, Valtori’s tactic book was insurmountable.

In season five, the team once again marched into the warm cave of Cave Entertainment. The pressure of the pre-favorite was again on the shoulders, when Telia Finland, who cleared their way to the finals from the lower bracket, faced off. Telia’s pressure was clearly less, although the Challengers series level had been won just earlier on the same day by Cygate’s Socceli, who also belongs to Telia’s teams.

As in the two previous finals, the JIS team again played with substitute players. However, it did not hinder the going. Although the final series was moderately tight, the execution of JIS was strong and the individual performance was phenomenal at best. The final match ended 2-0 for JIS (Inferno 13-10, Nuke 13-10). However, it was not possible to talk about the run-through, which is also indicated by the steady wins in the rounds. Telia Finland put up a strong resistance, but this time JIS’s dominance was also seen as a certainty in the final.

In the final, JIS-Automation’s captain was Meli, while the actual captain was unable to do so. Of course, you have to ask the winning team first, how do you feel now?

“It’s great to win the Masters trophy. Even though there was pressure as a pre-favourite, we still went in a relaxed mood with game drinks.”

The secret of success was revealed when asked: Too tough a gang. CS is a team game, but if tough individuals are able to weld together as a team, success is guaranteed. The same certainty continued at the end of the season also in the final match.

The champions’ party continued at the Cave Entertainment premises with saunas and fun games.

Next season, JIS-Automation will return to the battlefield again. Is the team going to renew their championship and will the line-up change?

“I think the roster will stay pretty much the same. And of course more trophies are on the way!”

Kanaliiga CS2 Season 6 registration opens later in the summer. Stay tuned!
