Reigning CS champion Valtori holds the crown forward

Valtori won the CS2 Season 2 championship in December 2024

Valtori won the autumn 2024 CS season championship in December 2024 in the LAN finals of Arkade. The pace that turned dramatically in the first map eventually swept Valtori to a 2-0 victory over the then reigning champion Digia Vengers.

CS2 Season 3 Enabled by Supermetrics finally ended in the most poignant way possible for Valtori. The drop to the lower bracket hit right at the beginning of the playoffs and finally, at the end of a long winning streak, the loss came to ALM Partners Default in the last match of the lower bracket, from which the winner advanced to the LAN finals.

“During the season, the scheduling challenges up until the last match had the greatest effect on what was done. In almost every match, a substitute player had to be played when someone from the original team was unable to attend. As a result, the playoffs also started more harshly than we wanted. However, we were able to drop the loudest shouters from the lower bracket for the summer holidays, so even if the finals place didn’t open up, we even got to learn from other teams.” - Jori “Jori” Taivalantti

Last fall’s CS2 Season 2 went extremely well at Valtori. The playoffs were played directly through the upper bracket, and in the finals, after a dramatic start, there was not a moment’s doubt that Valtori would have come to Arkade Bar in December to win. With the championship, the “monkey” also fell off my neck and playing became the much-needed relaxation, Jori specifies. At the same time, the doubters were silenced and a trophy was also planted at Valtori’s office in honor of the team’s long Kanaliigaura.

Plans for next season are still open, but Valtori’s goal is to participate in the season. Maybe the scheduling challenges will be sorted out in terms of the team’s players and in the fourth season we will return to the finals? That will remain to be proven next season.
